Where is Hotel Xcaret Mexico

Hotel Xcaret Mexico is located right in the heart of the Riviera Maya, south of Playa del Carmen. Arriving here from Cancun International Airport will take you exactly one hour. Depending on the room category you book, a shared or private transfer is included, so just get off the plane, grab your bags, and start your vacay!

Famous Xcaret, Xplor, and Xenses adventure parks are located within the same complex, so it would take you literally minutes to visit any of those parks from your room.

Playa del Carmen, Tulum, and many incredible locations are within reach. The benefits of being in the center of the action!

Pros and cons of the Hotel Xcaret Mexico

PROS

  • One of the incredible benefits of staying at Hotel Xcaret Mexico is that entrance to Xcaret Parks is included, with transportation to and from the hotel! Since most of them are so close together, you can go back and forth in a day if you want to.
  • They created a shoreline with rock walls, waterfalls, and lots of vegetation, so the beach is literally private and you get no seaweed. They did it this way to preserve wildlife and let nature do its own thing.
  • All the wedding venues are incredibly beautiful as they are. The beaches, the jungle, the views… You don’t really need to spend a fortune on decor; save it for the honeymoon!
  • The whole experience is just A+.

CONS

  • Maybe one of the bad things (if you can say that) about this place is the feeling you’ll get of missing out on something. There’s just not enough time to visit all the parks, enjoy the hotel, dine around, and see it all. You’ll just have to keep coming back!
  • Some guests may find it challenging to walk back and forth between the amenities and the rooms, since the hotel is huge and spread out. Also, there are no golf carts.
  • And the real bad thing. LEAVING. We’ve been there a few times, and it always breaks our hearts saying goodbye!

Rooms and Sections

The 900 suites are scattered across five buildings called “Casas” or “Houses,” each representing one universal element on which Mayan culture was based. So that would be spiral, wind, water, earth, and fire. Each has its own personality.

All suites incorporate natural and local elements and display handmade art pieces by Mexican artists from across Mexico. It’s like your own showroom! Plus, there are different pieces in each room, so that makes them all unique.

Resort suite with a king size bed and a pink cushion

A truly remarkable feature is the “all-view suite” concept. No matter where you are in the room, you will always enjoy a river, beach, or forest view, depending on the room category you booked. Even while you are taking a shower!

If a romantic getaway is what you are going for, the Fuego and Agua buildings are adult-only areas. Rooms are the same, just no kids.

The Beach

The beach here is comprised of several man-made inlets that offer private nooks and secluded areas, so you always feel like you are in your very own personal paradise. Find umbrellas, lounge chairs, and plenty of places to sunbathe and enjoy the sun.

Around the whole resort, surrounding the suite buildings, you’ll see the rivers. Here you can also swim, kayak, or just dip into the fresh waters. And look how beautiful they are!

Resort surrounded by nature and rivers

There is, however, an entrance to the beach, but you won’t see day beds or lounge chairs. Instead, there is a lot of vegetation, as they try to leave the area as untouched as possible to prevent wildlife disturbance.

Food & Drinks

Hotel Xcaret knows how important culinary experiences are when you travel. They have created a unique combination of flavors in settings that will surely make any meal a memory!

During your visits to the restaurants, you will clearly see a homage to Mexican culinary heritage with the use of ancestral ingredients. 10 talented chefs, including Michelin star winners Carlos Gaytan and Paco Mendez, and sommelier Sandra Fernandez, are in charge of the gastronomic offer, so I guess we could say the food will be more than good, right?

Colorful mexican restaurant of an all-inclusive resort

To immerse yourself completely in true Mexican food, you can find several carts with typical street food, exactly like the one you’ll find in any small town or big city around Mexico. So your taco cravings are covered, too!

For health and fitness enthusiasts, BIO is a whole-plant-based restaurant located inside caves, with views of the rivers. Have you ever had a salad inside a cave? I know I haven’t!

Guests also have the opportunity to enjoy Italian-Mexican specialties, a steakhouse buffet, a grill, traditional and modern Asian cuisine, and, for an extra fee, you can get access to a fine dining tasting menu restaurant ”HA”, for those seeking the very best of the best.

Activities, Sports & Kids Club

If you and the kids need a break from the parks, you can always enjoy some downtime at the kiddie pool and the kids’ club to recharge your energy and continue the adventures!

”Cantina los Faroles” translates as ”Lanterns Cantina”. Well, no need to explain the name, right? This can be considered the playground for grown-ups. Picture yourself sipping a delicious Tequila, eating some nachos, and singing along with the mariachi until after hours.

If a show is what you are looking for, ”Teatro del Rio” or ”River Theatre” is an open-air theatre that offers a delicious tasting menu while artists play Mexican music and perform traditional dances.

Exchange Privileges

Although Hotel Xcaret Arte and Hotel Casa de la Playa are located next door, you can’t really visit them. But why would you? You will be so busy visiting the parks and enjoying your resort!

What makes this resort different from other all-inclusive resorts

If you put together all the best Mexico has to offer in regards to music, food, and the warmth of the people, at mind-blowing architecture and an impressive beach, the result would be Hotel Xcaret Mexico.

  1. My son is going to get married, but he’s not sure how to choose a venue. It makes sense that an all inclusive wedding would be really beneficial for him. That seems like a good way to ensure that he doesn’t have to plan as much.
