Why get married at Princess Grand Jamaica

Princess Grand Jamaica is a flagship property in our database: it holds the richest Jamaica wedding dataset we track, with 10 venues and eight classic wedding packages under one roof, plus a dedicated South Asian program. That breadth is the real reason couples choose it: a two-person elopement on the beach and a several-hundred-guest reception on a private island can both be built here without ever leaving the resort.

It’s a 5-star resort with 590 suites just outside Negril, and it’s genuinely built for families. There’s an aquatic park with multiple waterslides, a dedicated kids club, and family suites with bunk beds, so relatives traveling with children are looked after while you focus on the wedding. Couples who want a more exclusive stay can add the Platinum Club upgrade, which brings butler service, exclusive pools and restaurants, and enhanced amenities. And, as you’ll see below, booking Platinum rooms is one of the ways a wedding package can become complimentary.

Princess Grand is also one half of a two-resort complex. Next door sits Princess Senses The Mangrove, the adults-only sister property: guests staying at Senses enjoy full access to Princess Grand’s facilities, while Princess Grand guests do not get access to the adults-only side. Groups can also book mixed room blocks across the two resorts, so the adults-only crowd and families with kids each get the stay that suits them without splitting the wedding.

For the wedding stay itself, the resort has Over-Water Villas and a dedicated Bridal Suite. Both are a treat in their own right, and both are directly tied to the complimentary-wedding perks below, so where you sleep can also determine what your package costs. A beachfront setting rounds it out, giving you the classic Negril sand-and-sunset backdrop just steps from your room.

The family-friendly side matters more than it first appears. Destination weddings live or die on the guest experience, and a resort with an aquatic park, a kids club, and family suites means the relatives who travel with children actually enjoy the trip rather than endure it, which, in turn, makes it easier to get your whole guest list to say yes. And for couples planning a multi-day South Asian celebration, this is one of the few Caribbean resorts with a purpose-built collection of packages for each event, from Haldi to reception. For a wider view of the island’s resorts, see our Jamaica wedding packages hub, which lists Princess Grand Jamaica alongside the island’s other top venues.

Princess Grand Jamaica wedding packages & 2027 prices

The resort runs its weddings as two separate collections: a classic (signature) range that scales from a simple two-person ceremony to a lavish 100-guest celebration, and a dedicated South Asian collection built around individual ceremonies and events. Each starting price below is the package base; you can add décor, dining, entertainment, and other extras from there. For a side-by-side of collections across resorts, see our wedding packages hub.

Princess Grand Jamaica classic wedding package starting prices (source: Princess Hotels & Resorts Jamaica Wedding Packages 2026-2027 brochure; the resort is honoring these 2026 rates for 2027 weddings, confirmed current as of October 2026). Extra-guest rates are per adult / per child aged 4–12 staying at the resort; the day pass is the non-hotel guest rate, with children 4–12 at half.

Whichever tier you choose, every package includes a dedicated wedding specialist, private check-in, a room upgrade (subject to availability), the symbolic ceremony itself, steaming of the wedding dress and suit, late check-out, welcome amenities, and a spa discount.

Timing is worth planning early: the resort hosts up to five weddings a day, with ceremony slots at 10:00am, 12:00pm, 2:00pm, 4:00pm, and 5:30pm. Some packages can only be booked in the first two slots, and choosing a later ceremony time adds a $1,000 fee. Also note that any celebration running past 10pm, even indoors, needs approval from the hotel’s general manager.

The range is unusually wide. At the entry level, One Love (from $1,000) covers the couple for a simple ceremony, ideal for an elopement or a symbolic vow exchange. In the middle, packages like Princess Wedding, Magical Wedding, and Xaymaca Love Wedding scale up from 20 to 50 included guests with modest per-guest add-ons. At the top, Royalty Wedding ($12,000 for 50 guests), Dream Wedding ($16,500 for 80), and Pure Elegance ($24,500 for 100) are full-production celebrations with a private cocktail hour and a three-hour reception built in. As noted below, the top two include the resort’s marquee venues that otherwise carry a hefty fee.

When a wedding here can be complimentary

Several of the classic packages can be complimentary when you meet a room or room-block condition, a common structure at large all-inclusives, where the resort effectively credits the wedding against your group’s stay:

  • One Love can be complimentary when you book an Over-Water Villa for a minimum of 4 nights.
  • Infinity Wedding can be complimentary when you book at least 5 nights in the Bridal Suite or an Over-Water Villa, or a group booking of at least 10 rooms with 30+ room nights.
  • Princess Wedding can be complimentary when you book a minimum of 10 Platinum Junior Suite rooms with 30+ room nights.

These thresholds reward couples traveling with a group, so if most of your guests are staying at the resort it’s often worth running the numbers both ways: the package you’d pay for outright may come free once the room block clears the minimum. Our guide to getting the best rates for your wedding group explains how these room blocks work, and we handle the math for you at no cost.

The brochure also lists a few smaller sweeteners: a $100 wedding credit on Infinity and Princess Wedding when you hold a private dinner or cocktail party on the wedding day (minimum $500 food and beverage spend), a $300 credit on Magical and Xaymaca Love when the semi-private dinner is upgraded to a private one (minimum $2,000 spend), and 10% off Royalty, Dream Wedding, and Pure Elegance for weddings in July, August, or September.

Wedding-day passes for outside guests

Guests staying at Princess Grand Jamaica are already covered by their all-inclusive rate. Anyone attending only for the wedding day, without staying at the resort, needs a wedding-day pass, which covers their food and drinks for the event. On the classic packages the pass is $50 per person; on the top-tier Royalty and Dream Wedding ($130) and Pure Elegance ($180) packages it’s higher, reflecting the elevated dining and open-bar experience those celebrations include. Children aged 4–12 pay half the day-pass rate. And plan the split carefully: the resort requires at least 70% of wedding guests to stay on property, with day passes covering no more than 30% of the list. Factor these into your total if you’re inviting local or non-staying guests.

The top packages include the marquee venues

Here’s a real piece of value worth calling out: the two premium packages, Dream Wedding and Pure Elegance, include the Private Dream Island and Main Sky Terrace venues, both of which otherwise carry a $6,000 venue fee (venue fees are subject to change). If a private island or a signature sky terrace is where you picture your ceremony, choosing one of these two collections folds that fee into the package rather than adding it on top.

Royalty Wedding does not include a premium location. This is the tier couples most often misread, because it sits just one step below Dream Wedding. If you want the Private Dream Island or the Main Sky Terrace with a Royalty package, it can be contracted for an additional $6,000 USD. That is worth the arithmetic: Royalty at $12,000 plus the $6,000 venue comes to $18,000 for 50 included guests, while Dream Wedding at $16,500 already includes the venue and covers 80 guests. If a premium setting is the goal, the higher package is usually the cheaper way to get it.

South Asian wedding collection

Princess Grand Jamaica stands out for its dedicated South Asian wedding program, built around the individual events of a multi-day celebration rather than a single one-size-fits-all package. That makes it far easier to plan a traditional sequence of Haldi, Mehndi, the ceremony itself, Sangeet, and a full reception without improvising around a resort that isn’t set up for it.

  • Pithi / Haldi ceremony
  • Mehndi party
  • Traditional South Asian ceremony
  • Sangeet / Garba party
  • South Asian wedding reception

South Asian weddings here are quoted a la carte rather than sold at fixed package prices. The resort builds the quote around the events you actually want, and it offers special concessions for South Asian wedding groups depending on the final room block contracted, so the size of your group genuinely changes the number. We would rather tell you that than publish a price list that would be wrong by the time you called. Tell us your events and your rough guest count and we will get the quote in writing from the resort.

How your room block changes what is included

This is the part worth understanding before you ask for a quote, because it is where most of the value sits. Princess runs a dedicated South Asian wedding concession programme, and the concessions scale in bands with the number of rooms your group actually contracts, with thresholds at roughly 10, 25, 50 and 100 rooms. At the entry band the resort adds a semi-private cocktail hour. As the block grows, you gain private event time at a venue, and the hours and the food-and-beverage service attached to each event step up with it. At the top band the programme includes a premium location for three hours with a bar and a three-hour buffet, which is the single biggest jump in the ladder: at that point a premium venue stops being something you pay extra to contract.

Alongside the event inclusions, the programme also covers the kind of group concessions that matter on a multi-day celebration: group check-in for larger parties, a guaranteed suite upgrade for the couple, a complimentary room once you reach a set number booked, spa and breakfast touches, and a discounted pre-wedding planning visit for the couple covering vendor consultations, a hair and make-up trial, and a food tasting. The exact list is confirmed for your group when you contract.

Three mechanics catch couples out, so plan around them. There is a three-night minimum stay for the programme. Every inclusion is contingent on the room block actually materialising: if your final room pick-up lands below the threshold, the inclusions are adjusted down or removed, so build the block from rooms you are confident of rather than optimistic ones. And the calendar is tighter than most: events must be pre-scheduled with the on-site coordinator no later than 60 days before arrival, while customised South Asian menus need chef approval and must be confirmed 30 days out, and they can carry an additional charge. Concessions are non-transferable, hold no cash value, cannot be combined with other promotions, and blackout dates apply.

Because the celebration is quoted event by event, you can build the exact sequence you want, a Haldi and ceremony only or the full run from Mehndi through reception, and pair it with the resort’s larger venues for the big-guest events. If you’re weighing a Caribbean destination for a multi-event celebration, our guide to South Asian destination weddings walks through logistics, catering, and timelines, and our planners coordinate every event so nothing overlaps or slips.

Wedding venues at Princess Grand Jamaica

Ten venues is a lot for a single resort, and the spread covers just about every style of wedding, from a barefoot beach ceremony to a private-island reception to a rain-proof indoor ballroom. Below are all ten with their guest capacities, grouped by type.

Private island & sky terraces

Private Dream Island for an amazing Princess Grand Jamaica wedding
Private Dream Island holds up to 1,088 guests and is included in the Dream Wedding and Pure Elegance packages.

Private Dream Island is the marquee venue: an actual private island, reached by a resort shuttle that drops guests at the island bridge. It’s exceptionally private, and for celebrations of up to 200 guests you can hold all three events (ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception) on the island itself, so the whole day flows in one exclusive setting. Its full capacity runs to 1,088 guests. The island normally carries a $6,000 venue fee, but that fee is included in the Dream Wedding and Pure Elegance packages.

Main Sky Terrace wedding venue at Princess Grand Jamaica
Main Sky Terrace seats up to 540 guests, also included in the two top packages.

The resort’s terraces sit above the coastline for elevated ceremonies and receptions with a view. Main Sky Terrace is the largest, holding up to 540 guests; like the island, it normally carries a $6,000 fee that’s included in Dream Wedding and Pure Elegance. Below it are a series of more intimate terraces: Bridal Sky Terrace (up to 120), Illusion Sky Terrace (up to 80), and the Presidential Sky Terrace (up to 50) for smaller, private celebrations.

Beach & ocean-view

Beach wedding venue at Princess Grand Jamaica
Grand Lobby Beach hosts classic barefoot beach ceremonies for up to 150 guests.

For the classic Negril beach wedding, Grand Lobby Beach holds up to 150 guests right on the sand. If you love the ocean backdrop but would rather not have a beach ceremony on sand, Ocean Oasis Beach View also seats up to 150 with the same water views from a firmer setting, a practical choice for guests in heels or for a more structured reception layout.

Garden & restaurant

Garden Scape is a landscaped garden setting for up to 136 guests, lush and tropical without being on the beach. For an evening reception, the Reef Restaurant hosts up to 150 guests and is available after 6pm, which makes it a natural fit for a seated dinner once the ceremony is done.

Indoor ballroom backup

Ballroom wedding venue at Princess Grand Jamaica
The indoor Ballrooms hold up to 1,185 guests, the resort’s largest space and weather backup.

The indoor Ballrooms are the resort’s largest space, holding up to 1,185 guests, and they double as the all-weather backup for any outdoor celebration. Negril is beautiful but tropical, so having a climate-controlled room of this size on standby means a passing shower never puts your day at risk: you simply move indoors and carry on.

What a Princess Grand Jamaica wedding really costs

Your total comes down to four things: the package you choose, whether you qualify for a complimentary path, how many outside guests need a day pass, and the extras you add (photography, floral and décor upgrades, entertainment, and any venue upgrade like the private island).

Example: a couple choosing the Magical Wedding package ($2,800, covers 20 guests) with 6 additional adult day guests would add 6 × $50 = $300 in wedding-day passes, for about $3,100 before any upgrades. A couple set on the private island, meanwhile, might choose Dream Wedding ($16,500) specifically because it folds in the island’s $6,000 venue fee, making it far better value than adding that fee to a cheaper package. And if a large share of your guests book rooms, one of the complimentary paths above could bring the package cost itself down to zero.

Jamaica is one of the more straightforward islands for a legal wedding, which is part of why it’s such a popular choice. You have two ways to marry at Princess Grand Jamaica:

  • Legal: couples can marry legally in Jamaica after a short residency period on the island before the ceremony. You’ll work with the resort’s wedding coordinator, who guides you through the marriage license and the paperwork requirements.
  • Symbolic: you exchange vows in any setting you like and complete the legal marriage at home. This keeps the destination day purely about the celebration, and it’s what many of our couples choose.

The exact documents and timing depend on your home country and Jamaica’s current rules. You’ll work with the resort’s wedding coordinator, who will guide you through the process and explain every requirement, so nothing is left to chance in the run-up to the day.

Getting there & when to go

Princess Grand Jamaica sits in Green Island, just outside Negril on the island’s western tip, the stretch known for its long beaches and relaxed, sunset-facing coastline. Most couples and guests fly into Montego Bay (Sangster International Airport); the transfer to the resort takes about 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours, and your planner can arrange group transfers so everyone arrives together.

Jamaica’s peak wedding season runs roughly December through April, when the weather is driest and the island is busiest. Late summer and early fall bring lower rates but overlap with the Caribbean’s rainier months, which is exactly when that 1,185-guest indoor ballroom backup earns its keep. Whatever the season, having a large climate-controlled space on standby means your celebration is never at the mercy of the weather.

Because the Negril area is a well-established resort region, it’s easy to build a few days around the wedding itself: a welcome event when guests arrive, the ceremony day, and a farewell brunch before everyone flies home. With ten venues on site, you can give each of those moments its own setting without anyone leaving the property, which keeps a traveling guest list relaxed and on schedule.

Princess Grand Jamaica wedding FAQ

How much does a wedding at Princess Grand Jamaica cost?

Classic wedding packages start at $1,000 for the One Love package (for the couple) and run to $24,500 for the top-tier Pure Elegance collection, which covers up to 100 guests. South Asian weddings are not sold at fixed package prices: they are quoted a la carte, event by event, with special concessions for the group depending on the final room block contracted. Outside guests who aren’t staying at the resort pay a wedding-day pass, from $50 on the classic packages up to $130–$180 on the top-tier ones. Your final cost depends on the package, your guest count, and any extras.

Can the wedding be free at Princess Grand Jamaica?

Yes, some packages can be complimentary when you meet a room condition. One Love can be complimentary with an Over-Water Villa booked for at least 4 nights; Infinity Wedding with at least 5 nights in the Bridal Suite or an Over-Water Villa, or a group booking of 10+ rooms with 30+ room nights; and Princess Wedding with a minimum of 10 Platinum Junior Suite rooms and 30+ room nights. Your planner can confirm which path fits your group.

How many guests can get married at Princess Grand Jamaica?

Venues range from intimate sky terraces for 50 up to the indoor Ballrooms at 1,185 and Private Dream Island at 1,088, so the resort comfortably handles everything from an elopement to a very large celebration. On the private island, groups of up to 200 can hold the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all in one place.

Does Princess Grand Jamaica have a private wedding venue?

Yes. Private Dream Island is an actual private island reached by a resort shuttle to the island bridge, and it’s exceptionally private. It normally carries a $6,000 venue fee, but that fee is included in the Dream Wedding and Pure Elegance packages. The Main Sky Terrace (also normally $6,000) is likewise included in those two collections. The Royalty Wedding package does not include a premium location, but one can be contracted for an additional $6,000.

Does Princess Grand Jamaica host South Asian weddings?

Yes, and it’s a standout for them. The resort supports the full multi-day sequence: Pithi/Haldi, Mehndi, the traditional ceremony, Sangeet/Garba, and the reception. South Asian weddings here are quoted a la carte rather than sold as fixed-price packages, and the resort offers special concessions for these groups depending on the final room block contracted, so ask for a written quote once your guest list and room block are set.

Can we have a legal wedding in Jamaica or only symbolic?

Both. Couples can marry legally in Jamaica after a short residency period on the island, or hold a symbolic ceremony at the resort and complete the legal marriage at home. The resort’s wedding coordinator guides you through the marriage license and paperwork for the legal option, whichever you choose.
