The Dreams Vista Cancun is in an area just north of Cancun called Puerto Cancun in an exclusive gated community called Puerta del Mar. Right next to the Puerto Cancun Golf Course it also neighbors the Puerto Juarez village. It is the only all-inclusive resort in this area.
The hotel has affiliated with the golf course, so golfers will be able to take advantage of low prices.
Within walking distance of the Puerto Juarez village, guests can walk over to the Ultramar Ferry that runs over to the beautiful island of Isla Mujeres.
The hotel will be offering a sea taxi leaving from its private dock to the Puerto Cancun Shopping area for guests that want to get out for a few hours.
In addition to many tours picking up at the hotel lobby, those wanting an ocean adventure will be able to opt for catamaran tours leaving directly from the private dock.
Our experience with the Dreams Vista Cancun
This resort just opened and although we haven’t had the chance to stay here yet, we were blown away by our extensive tour of the resort.
The wedding manager, Claudia, has several years of experience working with AM Resorts and is known for being responsive, efficient, and offering her wedding couples the best experience possible. Check out her Instagram for inspiration.

- AMR Collection resorts are big into timeshare and vacation clubs. Just be aware.
- The beach – if you are a beach lover, this is not the resort for you.
Rooms and Sections
All rooms are ocean view and all face the same direction, so views of the golf course, the Cancun hotel zone, and the hues of blue and turquoise can be seen from each and every room.
Preferred Club rooms are located on the top floors of the building, offering a private check-in experience, the Preferred Club lounge, and the incredible rooftop pool area.
The Deluxe Ocean View Room is identical on the inside in terms of square footage and room layout, what will change is the floor you are located on, and in the case that you choose Preferred club, you do have different amenities. Deluxe Ocean front rooms are available as connecting rooms, called Family Suites, where you are able to have a room with two double beds that connect through to a room with one king bed.
Rooms with plunge pools on the balconies are also available if you prefer, although the room interior will be identical to that of the Deluxe Ocean View.
If you want a larger suite, there are corner suites available, as well as honeymoon suites.
For the best suite in the house, you will want to choose the Master Suites. These are located in the oceanfront section of the building and offer a bedroom area, a separate living room area with dining area, and bar area. These rooms are located at the very end of the building, on the oceanfront end, and all have private plunge pools on the balcony. You can also opt to have this room connected to another bedroom unit if you would like an even large family suite.
The Beach
I’m not gonna lie…. This is not a resort for beach lovers.
Due to the location in Puerto Cancun, there is a lot of natural seagrass and the beach is not very long.
That said, the hotel will be expanding the beach to include the area right in front of the adjacent Puerto Cancun golf course. Furthermore, it tends to be a very private beach as it is the only resort in this area.
There are options if you love this resort but do want a beach day. You can hop on the ferry to Isla Mujeres and check out Playa Norte for the day, or you can take an excursion that will include a beach stop.
Another option is to head out to a beach club in Tulum and then maybe stop at Dreams Tulum on the way back for dinner! Make a day of it.
Food & Drink
There are 8 dining options on-site including 4 a la carte restaurants, a gourmet snack area, one main buffet, and a 24-hour cafe offering sweets and ice cream.
I got to try the homemade ice cream. ABSOLUTE BLISS!
The rooftop Blue water Grill restaurant is available for Preferred Club guests for breakfast and lunch, and in the evenings is open as an a la carte restaurant for adults only.
For more private dining experiences, ask about the Wine Cellar or the Chef’s table located in the kitchen.
There are 6 bars, ranging from a swim-up bar and a beach bar to the stunning 360 rooftop bar and a nightclub that stays open until 1am.
Activities, Sports and Kids Club
Dreams Resorts are known as a family-friendly hotel chain offering a lot for all ages and Dreams Vista is no different.
In addition to the kids club and teen club, there is a water park area, a surf simulator (still being finished), and a climbing wall. Grown-ups, do not fear! There will be a surf simulator for us, too.
Other activities include water sports such as kayaks, water aerobics, pool and beach volleyball, and a variety of lessons ranging from dancing to cooking, to an introductory scuba class.
Exchange Privileges
The Dreams Vista being part of the AM Resort chain, does participate in the Sip, Savor and See program.
Contact the concierge to make a reservation and you can access the nearby sister resorts for an evening out. Dinner and entertainment are included, but you do have to arrange your own transportation.
Some of the closest resorts are Dreams Playa Mujeres, Secrets Playa Mujeres (adults only) or if you want to head to the Cancun hotel zone, you can try the Dreams Sands or Reflect Cancun.

The wedding venues at Dreams Vista are spectacular. With amazing views, and the ability to host smaller weddings up to large groups of 300 guests, a wedding here will not disappoint.

Wedding Packages
There are several wedding packages available.
Starting at a simple package with a wedding ceremony for a group of up to 10, this package can be used for a vow renewal ceremony, an elopement, or just a small wedding group. Just $1149 there is even the possibility of getting it for free if you book a certain room category, just ask us how.
The next two wedding packages include 20 guests and also include the wedding ceremony, a private cocktail hour, and a private 3-hour wedding reception. This package ranges from $3199 to $3799. You can add on as many additional guests as you like, the cost will depend on the package.

This over-the-water wedding venue offers stunning views and a lovely ocean breeze.

Tips for the Ocean Deck Wedding Venue
- Covered area, so unless the weather is REALLY bad, no backup is necessary.
- Curfew is 11:00pm
- This venue and backdrop are so stunning, that you really don’t need a lot of extra decor.
Beach Wedding Venue
They will be expanding the beach in front of the golf course area to allow for a more private ceremony area. This main area can be used for cocktail hours and wedding receptions. Try to imagine this area without the volleyball net.

- No heels are recommended
- Consider renting string lights if planning an evening event

- A backup venue will be needed for this area
- If you want to save on a dance floor, the cement floor is great for dancing

Preferred Club Deck Vista Wedding Venue
I *think* this may be my favorite. The views are gorgeous. It feels very private and I love the intimate feel.

Tips for the Vista Deck Wedding Venue
- Backup may be necessary if extremely windy
- Hard surface allows for heels
- Curfew 11:00pm
Rooftop Infinity Pool Wedding Venue
This beautiful location is available later in the evening once the pool closes. Although the Blue Water Grill is adults only in the evening, since this area is on the other side of the rooftop, you can have kids at your events if you want to do so.
CAPACITY: Maximum capacity is 60 guests for reception and 120 guests for cocktail // AVAILABLE FOR: Cocktail Hour and Reception
Tips for the Rooftop Wedding Venue
- Only available for cocktail and reception as of 7:30pm
- Regular Rental Fee is $1500 (ask us how to get this waived)

Grand Vista Wedding Terrace Venue
This area is on the ground floor, located outside the ballroom area in the back of the main pool. It is quite private and fantastic for large weddings.

Tips for the Grand Vista Terrace Venue
- this area does have a roof, so less chance you will have to move in case of inclement weather
- this area does feel quite private due to the location

Vista Foyer Wedding Venue
CAPACITY: Maximum capacity is 300 guests // AVAILABLE FOR: Ceremony, Cocktail, Reception
Tips for the Foyer Wedding Venue
- No backup location necessary
- Can be used past normal curfew hours, providing you pay the extra time
- This area is also used as a backup wedding location
Vista Ballroom Wedding Venue
There is one massive ballroom that can be reduced for smaller groups. With built-in lighting options, a carpet made to reflect the colors of the ocean and sand, as well as mirrored walls, this pretty area is used for cocktails, receptions, and as a wedding backup.

Tips for the Ballroom Wedding Venue
- If you want to party late, you can have this area until 5 am! (You do have to pay for extra hours)
- A dance floor would be preferable due to carpeted floor
- No extra lighting necessary, they built-in 3 options for lights.
