The Fives Beach & Residences Resort is perfectly situated just 8 minutes from the iconic Fifth Avenue in Playa del Carmen, where you’ll find an abundance of shops, bars, nightlife, and local handicraft stores. Only 40 minutes from Cancun International Airport, the resort is easily accessible for your guests.
True to its name, “residences” reflects the essence of the property with its homey, residential feel and design. Unlike typical mega-hotels, it offers a cozy, welcoming atmosphere with a flat and spread out layout – no towering structures here – creating a home-away-from-home vibe. PROS
• With its amazing central location, everything is within close proximity! Whether you’re heading out for a shopping spree on 5th Avenue, visiting thrilling water parks, exploring Mayan archaeology, or discovering underground caves, it’s all easily accessible from here. The perfect spot for both adventure and relaxation, offering guests the chance to explore while still enjoying a wedding getaway.
• We absolutely loved the authentic Mexican cuisine! It truly feels like you’re in a pueblito mágico, enjoying delicious sopes con carnitas and sipping on a refreshing mezcalita. The flavors transport you straight to the heart of Mexico!
• They really go all-in for the kids and teens! From crafts, classes, and fitness activities to playgrounds, pools, and even spa and beauty treatments, there’s something for the whole family to enjoy. Plus, baby amenities in the room – like high chairs, strollers, baby monitors, and steam sterilizers – mean you can leave all that gear at home and pack light. It’s a reassuring touch for guests with newborns and toddlers, ensuring everyone has a stress-free, fun time!
CONS
• The property was designed to be a condo, so the layout may be different from any other beach resort you visit. You don’t get as much of a hotel feels as in other hotels, like Atelier Playa Mujeres.
• Same reason there are no direct ocean views from any room.
• The hotel’s pool and beach area tend to be quite busy due to its popularity, creating a lively and vibrant atmosphere. While it’s fun and energetic, if you’re looking for a more peaceful, serene resort experience, this might not be the vibe you’re seeking.
Rooms and Sections
The rooms and suites are incredibly airy, spacious, and designed to offer a sense of openness. With a modern style complemented by touches of Mexican charm, each room feels like a stylish retreat. They’re spread across different buildings, giving you the feel of your own private apartment, surrounded by lush gardens and pools.
Designed like a condo, many of the rooms offer extra space and additional amenities. The residence accommodations feature separate living room areas, full kitchens, fridges, and dining spaces – perfect for gathering the whole family and enjoying a home-away-from-home experience.
Rooms can accommodate anywhere from just 2 adults in the Deluxe Room to up to 6 adults and 2 children in the Three Bedroom Residence. It’s the perfect place to bring together the whole gang and enjoy a spacious, comfortable stay!
The Beach
While the beach here may not be as wide or long as some of the other properties in the Playa Mujeres Complex or Cancun, it’s definitely one of the best beaches in Playa del Carmen.
The location and beauty of this beach make it a truly standout destination for a relaxing beach experience. The atmosphere exudes a laid-back, tropical charm, with that perfect fresh coconut vibe – where you can sip on refreshing coconut water straight from the source, feeling the cool breeze and soaking in the sun.
