Ava Resort Cancun offers 1743 rooms, ALL of which are unobstructed Ocean Front views. The hotel has elevated all-inclusive dining options with more than 17 bars and restaurants to choose from. Additionally with over 66,000 square feet of spa, over 11,000 square feet for the fitness center, those seeking health and wellness options will be thrilled.
Belonging to the same hotel chain as the Hard Rock Hotels, you can also count on your share of entertainment, including a speak-easy, a whiskey lounge and a Mexican Cantina, the night owls can enjoy options. If you need daytime activities, there is a kids club, teen lounge, waterpark, trampoline park and more.
The Lagoon by Crystal Lagoon Technology® is a sustainable artificial 2.8 acres of crystal clear water that is a water playground offering options to SUP, Kayak, swim or float.

Where is Ava Cancun Resort?
Ava Resort Cancun is located only 10 minutes from Cancun International Airport.
The Ava Resort Cancun has the ‘boulevard’ with many boutiques on site. If you are shopping for souvenirs, art, tequila, or convenience items, you can find it all conveniently at the resort. If you want more extensive shopping, you can visit the Cancun Hotel Zone shopping malls. Cancun nightlife and nightclubs are only a 30-minute ride away. Our Experience with Ava Resort Cancun
We are here from DAY ONE! With Ava Resort Cancun being part of the AIC hotel group including Hard Rock Hotels and Unico, Hola Weddings is a double platinum winner for sales. We were also privy to an exclusive training a few days prior to opening. Being here in the area is a massive advantage as we can visit the hotels on a regular basis, see things with our own eyes, and get to know the teams on site.

Keep in mind that this is the list of services that will be available once the hotel is 100% open. For now, they are only allowing a fraction of the rooms to book and have the related amount of services available.
The North side and South side of the hotel will mirror each other for many services, so this will make everything more easily accessible.

Pros:

Cons:
- No beach. Lagoon area is gorgeous and allows for non-motorized water sports
- Not for you if you don’t like to walk. Resort is very big (but accessible with wheelchair / stroller)
- If you want an intimate feel for your group, choose a smaller property
- Just opened June 2024 – book wedding dates as of 2025 or later to ensure they have time to sort out the new hotel hiccups

Rooms & Sections
There are two sections to the Ava Resort Cancun. North and South areas. Each have the same room categories and all rooms in both areas are ocean front full views.
Upon booking your room (or room block) you can already confirm either 1 king bed or two double beds. King rooms also have a sofa bed.
Many of the newer resorts have an open bathroom concept which is not always a hit. Ava Resort bathrooms offer privacy, with a sliding door to close off the area completely from the main bedroom area.
Options for larger suites are available.
The video is a lead-in room category, so least expensive rooms have these views, this living space and amenities. Gotta love an ocean view tub!
How is the Beach at Ava Resort Cancun?
The beach is non-existent. As of now at the time of opening, there is not even an access to go walk on the beach. If this changes, we will let you know! In the area where the resort is located, the water tends to be darker and less inviting for swimming. With recent years offering beaches filled with seaweed and with the Cancun area beaches filled with red flags and dangerous swimming conditions, the Ava Bay offers stable conditions and temperatures in a gorgeous and inviting swimming setting. Plus, zero entry makes access for kids and anyone with mobility issues much easier.
Food & Drinks
With 17+ restaurants and bars, Ava Resort Cancun offers options for all tastes. Taking the size of the resort into consideration, the majority of restaurants will have one on the north side and another on the south.
The quality of the food during our stay here was outstanding. Despite not all the services being open as of yet, the service for the restaurants as well as the variety available has been impressive. Once everything is up and running 100%, I have high hopes!
The Mercado MX is a Mexican Food Market built with over a dozen stations. This was the main restaurant for breakfast and lunch offering a variety of options at the various stations.

In addition to the Food Market, the Ava Resort Cancun will offer an Asian restaurant with multiple teppanyaki tables, a Steakhouse with many smoked options, a gourmet Mexican restaurant and more. Many food pods will be available around the pool area and indoors, you will also be able to find snack options at the cafe and ice cream bar.
Activities, Sports, and Kids Club
The Ava Resort Cancun will have both a kids club and teen lounge area, set to open a little later. For the smaller kids, they have a waterpark area with a few slides and water games.
The teen lounge will feature options for sports but also have video games available.
Throughout the day, the resort has sports and activities scheduled for all ages. The entertainment team was on site as of day one interacting and getting guests involved.
As for sports, most non-motorized water sports are available in the Bay area. They also have a massive fitness center if you are seeking that atmosphere.

What makes this resort different from other AI Resorts
The ability to earn free events based on your group size is a unique advantage available at Ava, at Hard Rock (Punta Cana, Cancun, Riviera Maya, Vallarta and Cabo) as well as at Unico 20 87.
Also, very few resorts offer all ocean front rooms. Most require paying a hefty upgrade to get anything other than a garden view.
Weddings at Ava Resort Cancun
Whether you are seeking a smaller wedding or a large group wedding, Ava Resort Cancun has options and venues for all. One important note is that this resort will NOT offer a beach wedding location. They will, however, offer various ocean front and ocean view terraces of different sizes as well as panoramic ocean view ballrooms.
When choosing Ava Resort Cancun for your wedding, it is important to note that they will not confirm a specific wedding venue in advance, without an additional fee. My two cents is that many of the wedding venues are so similar, that paying an additional deposit is not worth it unless it will bring you peace of mind. The deposit is $50 per person and this amount is applied to your overall wedding balance about 30 days prior to the events.

Ava Resort Cancun Wedding Venues
The majority of the venues for Ava Cancun Resort Weddings are oceanfront terraces. These vary in size and can accommodate anywhere from 20-350 guests for a ceremony. Many can also be used for cocktail hour and reception.
Curfew for any outdoor events will be 10pm. If you wish to continue the party, you can opt for the panoramic ballroom venue to keep the party private or move your group to be the life of the party at one of the bars or the speak easy on site.
This terrace is located in the center of the property right in front of the main lobby. It overlooks the lagoon and then has ocean view in the background. Capacity of 180 for ceremony (150 for South Asian) and then 180 for reception.
NORTH & SOUTH BAY TERRACE
Available for ceremony, cocktail and reception, these terraces mirror each other, one on each side of the lobby with the aisle walk over the pool. Oceanfront views and breezes. Maximum capacity for reception is 100 guests
PANORAMIC TERRACE
This is a perfect outdoor location for more private ceremonies and receptions. With a capacity of up to 200 guests for ceremonies and 300 for reception, for larger groups, this terrace is a fabulous option. This does have an extra cost of $2800 as of June 2024.
AQUATICO TERRACE
A smaller oceanfront terrace for groups of up to 100. Please note that this one offers stair access only.
PANORAMIC WEDDING BALLROOM
The resort will offer two panoramic ballrooms that you can secure at an additional cost. This will allow your private event to continue past the curfew time into the wee hours.
